SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS
What personal information do we process? When you visit, use, or navigate our Services, we process personal information depending on how you interact with us, the choices you make, and the features you use. This includes profile information, sensitive information (with your consent), precise location data, and in-app activity such as Sparks balance and redemption history.
Do we process sensitive personal information? Yes. Because Paira is a dating platform, we process sensitive personal information including sexual orientation, race or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, and political opinions when you choose to include them on your profile. We also process precise geolocation data, which is considered sensitive in some jurisdictions. We process this information only with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Do we collect any information from third parties? We may receive limited transaction information from Apple in connection with in-app purchases. We do not collect personal information about you from data brokers or other third-party sources.
How do we process your information? We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, facilitate matches and double dates, process in-app purchases, manage your Sparks balance and Partner Offer redemptions, communicate with you, ensure security and prevent fraud, and comply with law.
In what situations and with which parties do we share personal information? We share information with service providers who help us operate the Services and with Apple Inc. for in-app purchase processing. We do not share your personal information with Partner venues when you redeem Sparks; redemption is handled on your device.
What are your rights? Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you certain rights regarding your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, and the right to opt out of certain processing.
How do you exercise your rights? Contact us at admin@joinpaira.com or use the privacy controls in your account settings.

Profile photos
Profile information you choose to provide (bio, interests, preferences)
Friend pairing information (e.g., the friend with whom you sign up for double dates)
Contact preferences
We do NOT collect or store payment card numbers or billing addresses. All in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the Apple App Store. We receive only limited transaction confirmation data from Apple, as described below.
Sensitive Personal Information
Because Paira is a dating platform, we collect and process certain categories of information that may be considered sensitive under applicable laws, including:
Sexual orientation
Race or ethnic origin
Religious or philosophical beliefs
Political opinions
Precise geolocation data
Some of this information (such as gender and sexual orientation) is required to use the matching features of our Services. Other categories (such as race, religion, and political opinions) are optional and provided at your discretion. You may choose not to provide optional sensitive information or remove it from your profile at any time through your account settings.
Important: Sensitive information you include on your profile will be displayed to other users in connection with the matching and double-date features of the Services. Do not include any information on your profile that you do not wish to share with other Paira users.
By providing sensitive information, you consent to our processing of that information for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. You may withdraw consent at any time by removing the information from your profile or deleting your account.
Apple In-App Purchase Information
When you purchase a subscription or other in-app product through the Apple App Store, Apple processes the transaction. Apple provides us with limited information including:
Transaction identifiers
Subscription status (active, expired, cancelled)
Receipt validation data
App Store age signal information (used to verify users are at least 18)
We do not receive or store your Apple ID password, credit card number, or other payment credentials.
Sparks and In-App Activity Information
When you earn, hold, or redeem Sparks (our in-app virtual currency described in our Terms of Service), we collect and process:
Sparks balance
Sparks accrual history (how and when you earned Sparks)
Sparks redemption history, including which Partner Offer was redeemed, which Partner venue was selected, and the date of redemption
Internal user identifier associated with each transaction (for fraud prevention and to display your redemption history to you)
Information automatically collected
In Short: Some information — such as your IP address and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you use our Services.
We automatically collect certain information when you use the Services. This information may include:
Log and Usage Data: service-related, diagnostic, usage, and performance information that our servers automatically collect, including IP address, browser/device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, and information about how and when you use our Services.
Device Data: information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other device, including device identifiers, hardware model, and operating system version.
Precise Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise GPS location from your device. Precise location is core to Paira's functionality — we use it to help match you with nearby pairs and suggest Partner venues near you. You can disable precise location at any time in your device settings. If you disable location, certain features of the Services may be limited or unavailable.
Cookies and Similar Technologies (Website)
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. See our Cookie Notice at https://joinpaira.com/legal-pages/cookie-policy for details on the cookies we use and how to manage them.
2.HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information to provide and improve the Services, manage your account and purchases, facilitate Sparks redemptions, communicate with you, and ensure safety and legal compliance.
We process your personal information for the following purposes:
To create and manage your account: authentication, profile setup, age verification, and account maintenance.
To provide the Services: matching you with other users, facilitating double-date communications, and displaying profile information to compatible matches.
To process Apple In-App Purchases: managing your subscription status, restoring purchases, and validating receipts with Apple.
To administer the Sparks program: crediting earned Sparks, displaying your balance, processing redemptions of Partner Offers, and tracking your redemption history for your own reference and for fraud prevention.
To provide customer support: responding to your inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with account or transaction questions.
To send administrative communications: updates about your account, changes to our terms or policies, security alerts, and other transactional messages.
To send marketing communications: with your consent or where permitted by law, we may send you promotional emails or SMS messages (you can opt out at any time).
To prevent fraud and protect the Services: monitoring for fraudulent account activity, abuse, Sparks exploitation attempts, and violations of our Terms of Service.
To improve the Services: analyzing usage trends, evaluating feature performance, and improving the user experience.
To comply with legal obligations: responding to lawful requests, complying with tax and accounting requirements, and enforcing our legal rights.
3.WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
In Short: We share information only as described below.
Service Providers
We share personal information with third-party vendors and service providers who perform services on our behalf, including:
Supabase (our backend hosting provider, which uses Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the United States) — for database hosting, authentication, and data storage.
Customer support is currently handled directly by Paira staff via email (admin@joinpaira.com) and is not outsourced to a third-party platform.
These service providers are contractually obligated to safeguard your information and use it only for the purposes we authorize.
Apple Inc.
Apple processes all in-app purchases and provides us with limited transaction data as described in Section 1. Apple's processing of your data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Partner Venues (Sparks Redemption)
When you redeem Sparks for a Partner Offer, we do not share your personal information with the Partner venue. Redemption is handled entirely within the Paira app. You display a redemption screen (showing the offer, a countdown timer, terms, and graphic elements) to the Partner staff, who then apply the discount in their own point-of-sale system. The Partner does not receive your name, email, phone number, profile, or other personal identifiers from us.
We may share aggregate, non-identifiable statistics with Partner venues, such as total redemption counts and aggregate venue performance metrics. This aggregate data cannot be used to identify any individual user.
Other Users
When you create a profile and use the matching features, the profile information you provide — including any sensitive information you choose to include — will be visible to other Paira users who appear in your potential matches. Do not include information on your profile that you do not wish to share with other users.
Business Transfers
We may share or transfer information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business. We will notify users of any such transfer that materially affects how their personal information is processed.
Legal Obligations and Safety
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
4.DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: Yes, on our website. Our mobile app does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for basic functionality, security, and to support advertising campaigns. See our Cookie Notice at https://joinpaira.com/legal-pages/cookie-policy for details.
Our mobile app currently uses only Apple's built-in App Analytics and TestFlight reporting (which provides us with aggregate, non-identifiable performance and crash data). We do not currently use third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude) or advertising/marketing pixels (such as Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or Google Ads conversion tracking) inside the app.
Marketing: We may run advertising campaigns on third-party platforms such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to attract new users to our waitlist or app. These campaigns use the ad platform's standard audience-targeting tools and do not require us to share your personal information with the ad platform. If we add advertising or analytics tools that involve sharing personal information in the future, we will update this Privacy Notice.
5.HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: Your profile and personal information are deleted within 60 days of account deletion. Transaction records are retained longer to comply with tax and accounting laws.
Active Accounts
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and you continue to use the Services.
Deactivated or Deleted Accounts
When you delete or deactivate your account, we provide a 60-day grace period during which you may reactivate your account and restore your information. During this period, your profile is no longer visible to other users, but your data remains in our systems in case you change your mind.
After the 60-day grace period expires, we permanently purge the following from our active systems:
Profile information (name, photos, bio, preferences, friend pairings)
Sensitive personal information (sexual orientation, race, religion, political views)
Precise location data and location history
Messages and in-app communications
Account credentials
Contact information
Information Retained After Account Deletion
After the 60-day purge, we retain certain limited information for legitimate business and legal purposes:
Transaction and financial records — including Apple In-App Purchase transaction identifiers, subscription history, and Sparks accrual and redemption records — are retained for up to seven (7) years to comply with tax, accounting, audit, and financial-reporting requirements. After the 60-day purge, these records are pseudonymized so they are no longer directly linkable to your identifying profile information.
Fraud, abuse, safety, and legal-dispute records are retained as long as necessary to investigate, prosecute, or defend against such matters, including for the duration of any applicable statute of limitations.
Aggregated or anonymized data that no longer identifies you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement.
Backup archives may retain personal information for a limited period before being overwritten in the ordinary course of operations.
When we no longer have a legitimate need to retain your information, we will delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it.
6.DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at admin@joinpaira.com.
7.WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time, depending on your country, province, or state of residence.
Account Information
You can review, update, or delete your account information at any time through the account settings in the App. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases, subject to the retention exceptions described in Section 5.
Withdrawing Consent
If we are processing your personal information based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us at admin@joinpaira.com or by updating your account settings. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Opting Out of Marketing
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email, or from marketing SMS by replying "STOP" or "UNSUBSCRIBE." You will still receive transactional messages necessary for account administration.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties.
Disabling Location Services
You may disable precise location collection at any time through your device's privacy settings. Note that disabling location may limit your ability to use core features of the Services, including nearby matching and Partner Offer discovery.
Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
If you reside in California, you have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information to specific permitted purposes. You may exercise this right by emailing admin@joinpaira.com. Note that limiting our use of sensitive information may prevent us from showing you on the platform if such information is required for matching.
8.CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature you can activate. Because no uniform DNT standard has been finalized, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. California law requires us to disclose this. We will reassess this practice if an industry standard is adopted.
9.DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have the right to request access to and receive details about the personal information we maintain about you and how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, get a copy of, or delete your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.

You have rights under certain US state data protection laws. However, these rights are not absolute, and in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law. These rights include:
Right to know whether or not we are processing your personal data
Right to access your personal data
Right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data
Right to request the deletion of your personal data
Right to obtain a copy of the personal data you previously shared with us

Appeals
Under certain US state data protection laws, if we decline to take action regarding your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing us at admin@joinpaira.com. We will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reasons for the decisions. If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint to your state attorney general.
California "Shine The Light" Law
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year.
10.DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date at the top of this Privacy Notice.
